- The problem
- Arvan’s console is where a customer creates a cloud server and runs it from a list. Two of its pages mattered most: the server list, which took about seven in ten of the page views on the console’s eleven main pages, and the create page, about one in ten. What should they show, and how would anyone know?
- The role
- Product designer. Ran the research from February 2020: watched recordings of customers, read the analytics and set up click tracking, coded a customer poll, ran team surveys, looked at four competitors and reviewed the old console and then the new one.
- The result
- The research left a board of 190 cards, a ranking of the console’s eleven pages, 131 coded poll tags, eight team surveys and 54 review findings. The research led to a redesign of the whole console; the board holds the research, not the redesign work.
